Purifaaya

SPOUTS produces the Purifaaya ceramic water filter as an affordable, effective, sustainable, and easy to use solution for providing safe, water to Ugandans. In addition to the 20 liter Purifaaya, we also have the Purifaaya XL, which has a larger capacity and is perfect for institutions such as schools and health centers.

Where We Work

SPOUTS produces the Purifaaya filter in a factory outside Kampala, Uganda. We distribute our filters to all four regions of Uganda all four regions of Uganda as well as the broader East African region and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

SPOUTS has empowered households to take ownership over their drinking water solutions through our Direct Sales “D2C” Program. Our staff lead group presentations in villages with the support of local leaders, so that households have the option of buying a filter during the presentation through our financing program, which allows them to pay for the filter in installments.

Through our loyal partners and our Filters for Schools Program, SPOUTS has installed filters in over 1,000 schools throughout Uganda, providing over 300,000 students with safe water. Now, students have one less thing to worry about and can focus on their studies.

In partnership with UNHCR and implementing partners, we have installed over 3,000 filters in refugee settlements, both at the household and institutional level. Families from neighboring countries now have one less thing to worry about as they arrive in Uganda to make a new life for themselves.
